Private View Thursday 10th June 6 – 9pm
Roundhouse, 5 Trinity Gate, Epsom Road, Guildford GU1 3JQ 01483 573 584

Roundhouse will present their first ever Pop Up exhibition in their Guildford showroom. Curated by Annabel Agace from Chalk Hill Contemporary Art, the Pop Up Ceramics Exhibition will showcase the work of 4 innovative artists: Paul Amey, Ikuko Iwamoto, Sue Paraskeva and Louisa Taylor.
The exhibition will present a range of work within kitchen, and furniture settings to help you visualize it in your own home. You will be able to buy or commission beautiful, unique tableware for use in your kitchen and dining room, along with decorated ceramic birds and porcelain vases and vessels for display.

Paul Amey
An imaginative sculptor who combines different media and techniques, Paul has created work for public and corporate spaces, as well as exhibiting in galleries throughout Europe. In addition to enormous site-specific pieces, he makes domestically scaled work such as the ceramic and bronze birds, some of which are screen printed with unexpected imagery by Swedish artist Asa Jacobsen, which will be exhibited at this show.
Paul studied fine art at Hornsey College of Art.

Ikuko Iwamoto
Ikuko makes exquisite porcelain cups and other objects for bizarre tea ceremonies. Intricately detailed with mathematical patterns which suggest organic forms, they reference the ordinary whilst being totally extraordinary. Ikuko gained an MA in ceramics and glass at the Royal College of Art, London, and lives and works in London.

Sue Paraskeva
Sue makes fine cylindrical porcelain vessels and a range of porcelain tableware thrown on a stick driven momentum wheel. The delicately speckled tableware contrasts glazed insides with unglazed exteriors and is dishwasher safe. Sue studied ceramics at Middlesex University and now lives & works on the Isle of Wight

Louisa Taylor
Louisa has become known for her thrown, stacking, porcelain tableware inspired by C18th dining services and re-invented for contemporary living. She will be showing her latest work, comprising small vases, pots and spoons glazed in delicious tutti-frutti colours.
Louisa gained an MA in ceramics and glass at the Royal College of Art. She lives and works in London.
