Paintings by Katy Sudderick
Sculpture by Richard Bray

Chalk Hill ventures into London for the first time with a collaboration with East West Gallery in Notting Hill. Katy has continued to explore the human body and in particular the internal anatomy with a new series of paintings and works on paper which are both beautiful and yet retain an edge of the horrific. A catalogue (view here) accompanies the show. Richard Bray has produced a series of new sculptures in wood, precisely planned and executed these are fabulously elegant works which draw the viewer in to their sweet spot where they come alive as sight lines open up in the sculpture and the numerous delicate cuts made in the wood are revealed. Always interested in the techniques of drawing and sculpture, the structure both introduced and natural in the wood and the physical presence of the objects, Richard has created sculptures that attract and hold your attention.
